Healthy Kids
Our kids are most precious to us. We all want our children to succeed in life and ease into school naturally. Some important factors that affect our kids’ cognitive abilities are overlooked, such as nutrition through healthy eating. Kids who have good energy, diet and a good mental outlook learn a lot better than those with a sluggish constitution, poor eating habits and anxiety or depression. The number of children on prescription drugs is startling.
Take a step back and see where your child can improve his or her lifestyle. Diet is key for proper development. Eating well not only helps brain function, but helps our kids ward off many viruses that circulate throughout the school.
Be sure your child eats whole Non GMO grains such as brown rice, whole grain breads and pasta. Limit white bread, white rice and regular pasta. Some children have food sensitivities, and when the trigger is found and eliminated, they will do a lot better in school. Common food sensitivities are wheat, dairy, soya, citrus, peanuts and corn. Have your child tested for sensitivities by your homeopathic doctor.
Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. If your child is fussy about eating fruits and veggies, try hiding them in sauces, using a cookie cutter to make fun shapes or using healthy dips to entice him or her to eat them. There are many greens supplements that can be given to help support a poor veggie eater. Lean meats such as fish, chicken and turkey are a good choice. Beans are a healthy choice as well. Limit sugars, artificial sweeteners, food dyes, white bread, white rice and any refined carbohydrates. Read labels.
